Philippe Gonet Rosé Brut Magnum 1,5l in gift box

Mousserande vin

The house’s Rosé is composed of 90% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil, paired with 10% Pinot Noir from the village of Vertus on the Côte des Blancs. The cellar master chose to make this cuvée a blended Rosé, bringing together all the freshness and finesse of a Chardonnay with the structure and fruit of a Pinot Noir. Cellar ageing lasts at least 3 years in order to develop its aromatic excellence.

A Fascinating Challenge

It is the story of an encounter. A historical vineyard, cultivated for almost two centuries by the same family, meets the seventh generation: a brother and a sister at the helm before their time.

A fantastic adventure began for both brother, then 22 years old and sister, 23, when they decided to take over the reins of the family business and follow in the footsteps of their father who had passed away three years earlier.

They took upon this difficult task with the ardour they inherited from the 6 generations of passionate farmers and winegrowers before them.

Pierre and Chantal, with their contrasting yet complementary personalities, share the same vision in making Champagne Philippe Gonet a winemaking reference in Le Mesnil, known worldwide for its exceptional quality wines that express the rich, pure, nuanced and mineral character of their choice terroir: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

Chantal, is Head of Sales for the Maison Philippe Gonet. Like her ancestors, she is a travelling salesman at heart. She journeys around the world, bringing her champagnes to wine lovers, enthusiastic to discover her artisan winemaker champagnes and the nuances of the renowned Le Mesnil terroir, cultivated and tamed by her family since 1830.
In the early 2000s, Chantal took advantage of being overseas in Singapore with her young family to make a name for her champagnes in Asia. Very quickly, she built relationships with connoisseurs and prestigious clients in Singapore as well as in Hong Kong and Japan. Today her champagnes are in over 20 countries worldwide.
Pierre, an avid hunter and a true man of the land, is both the wine maker and the cellar master. Just after obtaining his degree in viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Pierre took the reins alongside his sister at the Maison Gonet.
Passionate about his vineyards and his wines, he works relentlessly to improve the winemaking process, to ameliorate the quality of his wines and the culture of his vines. In addition to the knowhow he inherited from his family, he gained experience in Bourgogne concerning barrel ageing. Pierre ceaselessly explores the palette of nuances the mineral character his Chardonnay has to offer.
Honouring their history, Pierre and Chantal share the same aspiration to evolve. It is the same taste for risk that encourages them to follow the family adventure. Together they created three new cuvées for the house: the Roy Soleil, a pure Mesnil, aged in oak barrels; the exceptional cuvée BELEMNITA, a sublime interpretation of their best parcels in Mesnil; and in 2009, the Extra Brut 3210 cuvée, no sugar or sulphites are added at the dosage, for lovers of a wine with a distinctive mineral cut.
