COLOUR: deep ruby red, tending to garnet on ageing NOSE: vinous, rich and penetrating, tending to ethereal on ageing

TASTE: dry, with plenty of body and good acidity, slight showing of tannins, but not overbearing, long aromatic finish

MATURING: in steel barrels

AGEING POTENTIAL: this wine’s structure means that it will keep for up to 10 years stored lying down in a cellar

FOOD PAIRINGS: an excellent match for flavoursome pasta dishes, red and white meats, and medium mature cheeses

RECOMMENDED GLASS: wide-bowled tulips for the first 2-3 years, then balloon glasses, with decanting if preferred

In the prestigious land of the Langa, winemaker Angelo Torrielli has created a line of wines, sparkling wines and grappas showing terroir in its truest form for FRANCESCO SCANAVINO &C., a small winery producing particular wines from varieties which are native to Langa, Roero and Monferrato.

The grapes are carefully selected in the finest growing areas, on SOUTH, SOUTHWEST facing vineyards all planted several decades ago; the bunches undergo thinning each year, leaving only the very best for the harvest.

Vinification and bottling are performed by technicians who are leaders in their sector, using the best wine-making technology to ensure that everything is carried out in keeping with the criteria that produce superior wines..

Angelo Torrielli was born in Paris on 18/12/1947. Since graduating from the wine-making high school in Alba, he has worked for a number of leading wineries in Italy. Currently he follows the production of the entire Francesco Scanavino range of wines and sparkling wines.

Manuela and Michele express their passion in presenting this line to the most demanding palates, in the certainty of giving complete satisfaction and sharing a little of the magical atmosphere of Langa.
