Färg: Ljust gult klart vinDoft: Komplexa aromatiska dofter med inslag av honung, citrus, melon, äpple och persika.

Smak: Smaken är komplex, fräsch, balanserad och rund med eleganta smaker av citrus, melon, gula äpplen och persika i en mycket lång sammetslen eftersmak som dröjer sig kvar länge.

Servering: Vinet kan drickas nu men också lagras i 3-4 år till. Vinet kommer då att utvecklas och bli mer komplext och fruktfräschören från det unga vinet minskar Servera det ca 10-12°C som en aperetif eller tillsammans med orientaliskt kryddade rätter, lätt grillad eller stekta vita fiskrätter och skaldjur. Om det lagras några år kan det matchas med mer smakrika rätter som t ex grillad tonfisk med wasabi-kräm.

Skörd: Manuell skörd och manuell selektering av druvor klase för klase och på sorteringsbord. Vinifiering: Varsamt pressade för att förhindra oxidation. 20% av druvorna jäses i nya stora 500l franska ekfat och får ligga tillsammans med jästen 4 månader för att bevara alla aromer. 80% jäses långsamt i ståltank vid låga temperatur på ca 14ºC innan buteljering.

HISTORY

Pedro Ribas de Cabrera, ancestor of the current owners, started in the year 1711 the construction of the winery. Ever since, wine has been made at Ca’n Ribas, and has been gaining recognition year after year. It acquired prestige over a century ago, when it was awarded the Medal of Perfection at the National Winemaking Exhibition in 1877. The descendants of Pedro Ribas aim to continue his achievements and work in accordance with a lifestyle that above all respects the land, the history and the legacy.

 The Ribas Winery, located in the Majorcan village of Consell, has been making wine for over 300 years. A high percentage of the Majorcan grape varieties Mantonegro and Prensal are grown here in accordance with the family tradition. The Bodega Ribas is also known for recovering other native varieties from the island, like Gargollasa, which was practically extinguished, and that now complements the previous varieties.

The more than 40 hectares of vineyards are carefully worked on and harvested by hand, and count on the oldest plantation and the widest diversity of native grape varieties of the island. Ribas is the pioneer in Mallorca for grape selection in the vineyard and hand selection, grape by grape at the winery; in order to guarantee optimum quality in all the wines.

These aspects are the components that shape the pillars of the philosophy of the Ribas family, based on the quest of optimum quality through the control of their own old vines and a nurtured winemaking process leading to wines that are personal, elegant and with distinct terroir.
