An inspiring Story
Guided by intuition and backed by family heritage, Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi handcrafted a wine of distinctive quality and character. Seña is the culmination of their wonderful parternship and a passionate journey.
An iconic decision is made from the heart. Following the sign of his intuition, in 1995 Eduardo Chadwick pioneered a joint venture with Robert Mondavi to handcraft a world-class Chilean wine. Chadwick searched alongside Mondavi for four long years before finding the ideal terroir in Chile’s Valle de Aconcagua that spoke to their instincts. Seña is the culmination of their vision – an expression of consummate quality and character.
Robert Mondavi
Among great New World wine pioneers, Robert Mondavi is an international icon. He believed that the path to a more gracious lifestyle leads through the appreciation of wine, food, and art. Also believing that Napa Valley could be the center for that lifestyle, Mondavi produced wines that belonged in the company of the great wines of the world, and wines that belonged at the family table.
In 1966, emboldened by boundless enthusiasm, he built the first major winery in the valley since prohibition: Robert Mondavi Winery. Since then the open arch of the Robert Mondavi Winery has welcomed thousands of guests to share in Robert’s love of wine, food, and art.
With the release of the Robert Mondavi Winery’s Cabernet Sauvignon in the late 60’s the world’s eyes were opened to the potential of the Napa Valley. The historic Paris tasting in 1976, where two former winemakers of the Robert Mondavi Winery won first prize, further supported this revelation.
Through tireless winemaking innovation, an uncompromising eye for quality and unshakable faith in California’s vineyards, Robert Mondavi realized his vision of creating a collection of the most recognized and best-loved wines in the world. More importantly, he realized his vision of Napa Valley as the center of the worldwide wine and food culture that has enriched the lives of millions

Eduardo Chadwick
Eduardo Chadwick, Owner and President of Chile’s Viña Errázuriz, carries on his family’s legacy and passion for wine. Founded in 1870, Viña Errázuriz is described as the “quality benchmark from Chile” and as among the world’s best by the fine wine critics.
Eduardo has been director of, Wines of Chile, the Chilean Wine Export Association based in Santiago, and is a Mayor Supporter of the Institute of Masters of Wine. Decanter recognized him as one of the fifty most influential personalities of the wine industry. He is also a member of the “Confrérie of the Wine Industry Merit,” which oversees the authenticity, quality and image of Chilean wine.
Eduardo has been an active ambassador of Chilean wines around the world. In 2004, he came up with the idea of doing a technical seminar to educate top European critics on Chile’s unique terroirs and compare them vis-à-vis to the most traditional regions of the world: Bordeaux and Tuscany. Guided by his faith in Erráruriz and Seña wines, Chadwick arranged a blind tasting in Berlin, pitching his wines against the best of these regions in blind equal conditions. The big surprise for everyone was that Eduardo’s wines, Viñedo Chadwick 2000 and Seña 2001, came in first and second places in front of all the revered First Growths and Super Tuscan wines. Now widely known simply as The Berlín Tasting, this event has been recreated in the main capitals around the world, showcasing Chilean wine’s world-class status.
