ARTADI HAS A HISTORY LINKED TO THE MEMORY AND THE KNOW-HOW OF OUR ANCESTORS, WHICH IS CONTRARY TO THAT OF INDUSTRIAL PRACTICES, AND IS BASED ON A PASSION AND RESPECT FOR THE VINEYARD
1985, Laguardia (Alava). A group of winemakers, village men and women with rooted traditions who focused on the vineyard and its wines, founded Artadi. Shortly after, our obsession for the careful cultivation and the cult of the vineyard allowed us to draw out the personality of our individual wines, a reflection of their origins. In 1996 and 1999, this same conviction guided us to pursue our project in Artazu (Navarra) and Pinoso (Alicante).
OUR GRANDPARENTS´ EXPERIENCES BECAME WISDOM AND A PATTERN OF LIFE
We keep alive the viticultural traditions of our grandparents, fighting against the destructive advances that chemistry has introduced into industrialized and disrespectful agricultural management. We aim to preserve the production and the enjoyment of a "living" wine, with feelings and spirituality, integrating nature and the vineyard in our own lives.
THE VALUE OF GREAT WINES IS CLOSELY RELATED TO THE SOIL AND THE PEOPLE
Applying the terroir as a viticultural project; the passion for the things well done; respect for a historical heritage; the love of nature; the personality of our wines... These are the reasons for which we work every day with one main goal: to produce inimitable wines.
OUR WINES ARE "MADE" IN THE VINEYARD AND THEIR SECRETS MATURE, REST AND ARE SUSTAINED WITH ZEAL IN THE CELLAR
We appreciate the making of a good wine, following a natural transformation, evolution and entropy as processes of life. Native yeasts, low-sulfur content, absence of chemical compounds, working with gravity, respecting the evolution of a wine, the appreciation of life... These are realities that lie close to our wines and favor the rich heritage of a complex vineyard full of subtle nuances.
