Robert Parker
Full, firm and with a racy line of freshness. 257 cases produced.

Medium to deep garnet-purple, the 2016 Hartford Zinfandel Dina's Vineyard comes leaping forth from the glass with arresting, gorgeous floral scents of violets, lavender and roses with a core of cherry cordial, blueberry compote, blackberry tart and dried mulberries plus wafts of spice box and and dark chocolate. Full, firm and with a racy line of freshness lifting the concentrated fruit, it finishes very long with tons of mineral, floral and spicy layers. 257 cases produced.

Wine Enthusiast

Aged in all French oak, 56% of it new, Dina Arata's old-vine site contributes soft supple waves of mocha, coffee and black-cherry-berry flavors. Juicy lengthy tannins and generous oak give it power and substance within a graceful buoyancy and lasting freshness.

Tasting Notes

The 2016 Dina’s Vineyard Zinfandel shows deep, dark color along with focused ripe blackberry, floral and anise aromas that transition into cocoa, blackberry, and blueberry flavors. The bright acidity speaks to its’ cool climate site, with dense tannin structure balanced by high fruit intensity. This is a wine that shows well today and will age and improve for years to come.

Vineyard & Vintage Character

Dina's Vineyard was planted more than 100 years ago by Italian immigrants who settled in the Russian River Valley. Today, only about ten acres of gnarled, dry-farmed vines remain at their original homesite. The vines are predominantly head-trained and planted on the typical eight-by-eight spacing, originally intended to allow horses to cultivate between the vines in both directions of the vineyard planting. Deep and dark color, bright acidity and elegant texture are all typical indicators of Dina's Vineyard terroir.
