Tasting note
Three Sticks Wines' Durell, Gap's Crown and Walala vineyards form the foundation for the house's outstanding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Over time, they have developed into iconic vineyards in California. Gap's Crown, one of the Sonoma Coast's most recognized wineries, is located on the western slope of Sonoma Mountain. The vineyard has the ideal mix of different climates, soil types and altitudes, resulting in excellent high quality Pinot Noirs.
The 2021 vintage began with an extremely dry winter, which required early irrigation in the vineyards to counteract the lack of rainfall. Cooler weather around budding and flowering resulted in very different yields at harvest, which put the Americans to the test. Autumn began on the last day of August and continued throughout the month of September.
