The unique story of Château Guiraud, Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855, continues with the birth of the new dry white Grand Vin Blanc Sec. The property, which has always been a forerunner in organic viticulture and has years of experience in the production of its Grands Crus, is proud to announce a new addition to its range of exceptional dry white wines with the launch of a wine of excellence.
Château Guiraud's Grand Vin Blanc Sec is made from selected grapes harvested in the best clay, fine gravel and sandy vineyard plots that are characteristic of the estate. Harvested by hand at optimal maturity, the fruit is generously aromatic. On the palate the texture is exquisite, offering a silkiness that is worthy of the greatest wines.

This has aromas of lime zest, dried pineapples, green mangoes, dried thyme, salted almonds and pine needles. It’s medium-to full-bodied with bright acidity. Layered and concentrated. Plenty of fresh and dried fruit to the herbs and nuts.

Château Giraud's 2020 Blanc Sec is an attractive, Sauvignon-dominant blend that offers up aromas of crisp nectarine and citrus zest mingled with hints of passionfruit and white flowers. Medium-bodied, elegantly textural and incisive, it's a pretty, polished, precise white with a delicate core of fruit and a saline finish.

On the nose, fruity and offers good definition, fine texture as well as precision and depth. Notes of ripe apple, fresh peach and more slightly citrus fruits associated with fine points of fresh almond. The palate is fruity, discreetly tight and offers juiciness, minerality, gourmandise as well as a nice fine grain, a certain delicacy. On the palate it expresses notes of pulpy/juicy apple, lychee and more lightly citrus fruits associated with touches of fresh kumquat as well as fine points of almond, small exotic fruits and a discreet touch of vanilla.

A grassy wine with hints of honey behind the white and citrus fruits, this comes from the Sauternes classed growth estate. It is still young with a complex character behind the brilliant fruit. Drink the wine from 2023.

The palate is even better with its layers of lusciously-textured, oranges, candied lemon, and notes of white peach that show up in the vibrant, creamy finish. This is the debut of this new wine from Guiraud which is the brainchild of Sandrine Garbay. The wine truly tastes exactly like what you want from a dry Sauternes. Drink from 2023-2035.
