James Suckling
There’s an intense core of spicy red berries that runs through the wine in an uncluttered way. Medium-bodied with a lightly firm tannin framework and decent length. Not the most complex Barolo in their range this year, but well focused and super-clean. Best from 2024.
Decanter Magazine
Fermented in a horizontal stainless steel tank with a relatively short maceration, then aged in French oak, Vigna Pressenda is a perfumed Barolo with an intense violet aroma and the vibrancy of dark wild fruits. The tannic structure is dusty and massive, with crisp acidity and enough fruit concentration to achieve balance. More austere than supple - but we are in Castelletto with a more easterly exposition. Good length.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The Conterno Fantino 2018 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda is dense and tight, especially at this early phase in its life. This wine promises good things to those who wait, and it shows both the freshness and the structure to go the long haul. I love the sharp and extremely focused personality of Vigna Pressenda. Dark fruit and rose are backed by etched mineral and sensations of iron ore. This wine is a true beauty. 6,616 bottles were produced.
