grandparents. Following the formula of traditional Bordeaux châteaux —relatively rare in
Rioja— our wines come exclusively from estate-owned vineyards planted with TEMPRANILLO.
Strict pruning and respectful growing practices achieve a perfect blend of the traditional and
the modern at the service of fruit and full expression — ROOTS, SOIL and FAMILY.

Important dates in our recent history: 1979:The Diez Caballero’s winemaking story begins with our first bottled vintage, 1987:Marked an important point in Diez-Caballero ‘s history with the launch of our first Reserva, 1998:Our first exports to New York and Switzerland.
Special climate and soils, proper pruning, rigorous standard of winemaking , concrete wine tanks, best oak wine barrels , all those factors optimize the quality of our wines and allow the adequate synthesis between the traditional and the modern.
Manuel Ruiz Hernandez is our oenologist jointly with Antonio Diez-Caballero , according to this relevant winemaker, “the most important progress in matter of quality wine is, honesty” and this is the purpose we follow in our daily responsibility.
