Mousserande vin från Venetien Valdobbiadene Itlaien"Cantine Franco" grundades 1919 av Antonio Franco i Valdobbiadene, en by i Veneto, i nordöstra Italien. Området, kännetecknat av kullar och vingårdar på smala, gräsbevuxna terrasser, anses vara det mest prestigefyllda för produktion av Prosecco. Godset, en av de äldsta i Valdobbiadene, ett område som anslöt sig till eliten av vingårdar på Unescos världsarvsområden 2019.

Wine Enthusiast
Light and airy, this lovely sparkler has inviting aromas of ripe white stone fruit, spring blossoms and baking spice. On the dry, foaming palate, an elegant perlage and fresh acidity accompany ripe yellow apple, Bartlett pear, vanilla pastry cream and a hint of white almond.
Falstaff
Powerfully bright lemon yellow with green accents. Distinctive, subtle aroma of herbs, thyme, ripe pineapple and passionfruit, plus the finest brioche notes and nut butter. Builds up richly, fills the whole palate, fine-boned and multilayered, harmonious, complex and persistent on the finish.
James Suckling
Rejected by the DOCG bureaucrats as atypical since 2007. Thus, released as non-appellation expression. A site defined by morainic stones without any friable soil. Sheer and stony, with hints of pithy apricot, saltbush, sage and a saline rush of wet pebbles, somewhat reminiscent of fine Chablis, albeit considerably riper. The finish is a thirst-slaking rush of phenolics. Profound spumante, idiosyncratic and wondrous. Drink or hold.

Glera
Druvorna från Grave di Stecca kommer från en speciell vingård i Valdobbiadene, den enda i sitt slag i hela områdetav Prosecco. Omsluten av en hög stenmur som skyddar den från den yttre miljön, liknar den en fransk clos, en inhägnad vingård. Områdets jordmån och mikroklimat ger ett mousserande vin med extraordinära egenskaper: djup och komplex, inslag av mogen frukt kombineras harmoniskt med nyanser av aromatiska örter och intensiva mineraltoner. Vår enastående Spumante.
Tasting note
Ljus halmgul färg med intensiva aromer av mogen frukt, aromatiska örter som salvia och intensiva mineraltoner av flinta. Torr men också krämig, djup och komplex, med en silkeslen och ihållande finish som kännetecknas av en touch av rostad mandel. Täta och livliga bubblor.
Terroir
Vingården Grave di Stecca, som sträcker sig över cirka 2,4 hektar, ligger vid foten av berget Cesens södra sluttning, på en höjd av cirka 270 meter. Jordarna är uppbyggda av kalkstenar som varierar vad gäller ålder, renhet och skiktning, och blir grusiga i vissa områden.
Vinifiering
Charmat-metod: pressning, avhärdning, kylning av must och jäsning vid kontrollerad temperatur i ståltankar. Vinet vilar på jäsningssedimenten under en lång period. Andra jäsning i autoklav och lång lagring på flaska.

On 16th January, thirty of the world’s most renowned sommeliers took part to an exclusive tasting from William Reed, the name behind The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and World’s Best Vineyards:
Producers were invited to submit their wines into this unique tasting that guarantees their wine is presented to some of the most acclaimed palates in the world.
The final selection will serve as a useful tool for on-trade professionals all over the globe to seek out peer-recommended wines.
Representing 4 continents and 16 countries, the sommeliers invited onto the panel are globally acclaimed, with many featured on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The panel tasted wines submitted by producers from all over the world in order to make their final selection.

Award-Winning Sparkling Wines From Nino Franco
as we have done in the past years, we gladly share with you some of the recognition that our wines have received from the Italian and international press.
2023 has truly been an extremely exciting year. Just like the extraordinary «In viaggio nel tempo» tasting that, a few weeks ago, proved how our wines can span decades and continue to waken strong emotions. As for the ratings received, we can only be highly satisfied of the results: the year ends on a truly exceptional note. Our Grave di Stecca has particularly been astounding: the 2017 (tasted en primeur) and 2016 vintages have hailed the label among the great international sparkling wines, scoring 97 and 96 points – respectively – from Doctor Wine and rising as the best wine made from Glera grapes.
