Tasting note
'This natural white wine on lees, organic and suitable for vegans, is a monovarietal Godello made in the D.O. Ribeiro (Galicia) by the hand of O Morto Wines.

It is born in the area of Castrelo do Miño. Some young vineyards that are planted on decomposed slate soils. Organic agriculture is practiced with the minimum use of copper and sulfur and following the guidelines of the biodynamic calendar. The harvest is manual with selection of the grapes in the same vineyard. Fleeing from the high yields and the little control in the elaboration, a new wine panorama is born in the D.O. Ribeiro. O Morto Vía Revolucionaria Godello Puro is proof of this. A natural wine full of nuances and with an important contribution of freshness and acidity.'

Tiro al Blanco (O’ Morto Wines) was created in Ribadavia in 2017 by Matías Michelini, Alex Gonzalez and Sergio Cortes. They have four hectares of vines averaging 15 years of age from which they produce 25,000 bottles. 2019 was a warmer year with a healthy crop, as they had a dry harvest and the ripening and picking was paused. 2018 was rainier and required more precision. They harvest early anyway, and in 2019 they harvested a little earlier and the grapes kept the acidity. In 2019, all the wines went through malolactic (there was a lot of malic acid and they think it was good), and in 2018 they didn't. There will be a couple of new wines next time, a new single-vineyard white from Ribeiro and a red from the Miño banks in Ribeira Sacra.
