This pretty red with fine tannins has strawberry and floral aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Integrated mid-palate and a fresh, beautiful finish. A new single-vineyard Barolo that shows lovely finesse. Drink or hold.

Leather, camphor and black spice aromas lift out of the glass. The full-bodied, concentrated palate shows dried cherry, star anise and the warmth of evident alcohol alongside close-grained, drying tannins. Give the tannins another few years to unwind, then drink sooner rather than later to capture the remaining fruit and richness.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

This is the first time I have tasted a wine from this particular cru. In fact, I did a search in our database and we, at Robert Parker Wine Advocate, have never tasted a Barolo from the Raviole MGA (the official listings of crus) in Grinzane Cavour. The 2015 Barolo Raviole offers simple and accessible tones of dark fruit, ripe cherry and soft spice. The wine is forthcoming and soft, with a beautiful but easygoing performance in the mouth. This is a Barolo 101 for beginners and other general Barolo enthusiasts. Some 6,500 bottles were made.

The big news from the Damilano family is the introduction of a new wine, the Barolo Raviole, which I have reviewed here. This little-known vineyard is located in Grinzane Cavour, and I can't think of any other Barolos from this site.
