Rött vin från Piemonte« Paitin är en av de äldsta vingårdarna i Barbaresco; de anser att 1796 grundades men deras rötter i området går ännu längre tillbaka. De har varit en klassisk, traditionell producent av Barbaresco i över sin 200+-åriga historia bortsett från en kort flirt med kortare macerationer under några årgångar på 1990-talet. De nuvarande årgångarna är fantastiska exempel på fokuserad, elegant, traditionell Barbaresco. »

Tasting note
The Paitin 2021 Barbaresco Basarin is from a site with south-facing vines at 250 meters in elevation, and you can feel the warmth of the growing site. Summer heat lingers in Basarin. The bouquet has a note of biscuit or cracker, small tart berries and a green aroma that reminds me of parsley or celery in a frying pan. There’s a hint of white pepper too. The finish is very silky and polished. This is a fun technical Barbaresco for the wine nerds out there.
This is a beautiful set of wines from Paitin. In addition to Nebbiolo from Faset, Basarin and Serraboella, the winery is launching a new Barbaresco from Albesani. This is the third Paitin MGA wine from Neive, and it represents an effort to further define a territory through individual cru sites.
