A transparent ruby color, the Langhe Nebbiolo is ripe and juicy, with notes of ripe raspberries, plush tannins, and a weightless feel. Its good ripeness and approachability make it an attractive wine to drink over the next several years.

Here's a delightful wine that is simple and transparent but which also shows a good deal of varietal character. The Paitin 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo Starda has a pretty bouquet with fine points of wild berry, licorice and chopped mint. That little menthol hint goes a long way to add lift and energy to the bouquet and the general flavor profile of this lean-bodied red. This is a delicious weeknight dinner bottle (with 16,000 of them released).

Starda is a name of an ancient family of notary, after them was named an house and a small street that runs along the bottom of Serraboella. The soil of the bottom of Serraboella, more sandy and fresher gives gentle nebbiolos but preserving their superior class. From some years in the Starda the nebbiolo is not only from Serraboella but from the sandier part of Ca veja too, another famous plot we own in Alba.

We can date back our first bottle of Langhe Nebbiolo to 1893, when we produced our first Barbaresco. The name of Starda was instead used for the first time on a label in 2013 to be distinguished from the one of the Ca Veja.

Azienda Agricola Paitin är en familjeägd vingård i Neive, inom Barbaresco-zonen i Piemonte. Historia Gården går tillbaka till 1796 då Benedetto Elia köpte en gård med tillhörande vinkällare. I början av 1890-talet gick Giacomo Elia och hans son Giuseppe samman med den lokala oenologiska eliten. Med betydande hjälp från Domizio Cavazza och två andra tekniker, åtog Giuseppe vinifieringen av Nebbiolo, och 1893 producerade han sitt första vin märkt "Barbaresco del Bricco di Neive". Giuseppe...
